cookies, or of course a creation from a good old nestle toll house
cookie recipe. At a bridal shower I helped coordinate in Sonoma, CA a
few
years ago,
the mother and grandmother of the bride, surprised her with platters
and
platters of Swedish cookies. They were all made from recipes that had
been in the family for generations. Each baby shower cookie paired
perfectly with
the cake, and the heartfelt moments that we experienced with their
lovely
family that day, is why I love planning special events.
Stay on the lighter side. Being
that showers are usually luncheons, it’s best to not serve desserts
that
are too heavy. Small, light and bite sized baby shower cookies work best,
especially
because cookies are often served with the cake or cupcakes. The rule of
thumb
is to keep it light! Non-messy is better. Dessert is often served while the mom-to-be is
opening her
gifts, so keeping the dessert non-messy and simple is always what I
advise my
clients. You don’t want chocolate or sticky fingers touching the
newborn gifts
after the guest of honor has passed them around the room. Although I
love
chocolate (who doesn’t) it’s best to stay away from messy chocolate or
any
other messy cookies for a baby shower.
