Butterfly Cupcakes

by Cami
(NC)

I came up with a great idea for butterfly cupcakes that I wanted to share. I melted semi sweet morsel chocolate chips on the stove, and dripped it into butterfly wing shapes on a piece of parchment paper. So I did the outline of each wing first, then filled in the center with chocolate.

Once they wings dried, I was able to peel them off pretty easily. I then melted a small amount of white chocolate chips, and separated them into 3 parts. I colored one part with yellow food coloring, one part with orange food coloring, and left the last part white. I then looked at a photograph of a monarch butterfly, and tried to copy the design the best I could with the white chocolates, onto the chocolate wings.

Once dried, I placed 2 wings on top of each chocolate cupcake I had made, and they totally looked like butterflies!
