Use a small toy as a cake topper

Branching off of the other post about using stuffed animals as cake toppers...what about any toy as well? It could be a ball, or a small card board book, or a teething toy. If ducks are the theme, the topper can be a rubber ducky, etc. The list goes on. Using a toy that looks good and is separated from the top of the cake by a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper is a quick and easy solution for anyone baking a baby shower cake.
